Sausage Gravy on the Trail

I LOVE biscuits and sausage gravy!!! And Robert loves our dehydrator (Thanks Mac and Molly!) So we decided to try out dehydrated sausage gravy and biscuits on the trail this summer. The biscuits made it just fine, no dehydration required. The gravy on the other hand was interesting. It was kind of like eating Velveeta cheese that tasted like gravy (nothing wrong with that!)

Biscuits and gravy on the trail!

Mackie’s 86th Birthday!

My grandma, Mackie, turned 86 today! I hope I am enjoying life and looking this good at 86! She had a wonderful marriage, fantastic kids (one is my mom and the other is my god mother), and amazing grand-kids (if I say so myself!) Such a testament to her life and how she raised her daughters. She was the love of Popeye’s live (my granddad) and is the inspiration of our lives!

Love you Mackie!!!

Wedding Pictures

I’m processing wedding photos tonight and ran across this picture of Robert and I. We took it before we headed home for the night and it turned out pretty well. I’m just surprised we don’t look more exhausted!

Camping: Fire

I’ve been trying to learn new things on the trail this year.  My first project is “Kelly Does Fire”.  I’ve never built a fire by myself so I thought I’d share my first one!

Cheers,
K
